Air Fryer Mini Apple Pies
Ingredients
- 1½ cups flour
- 1 tsp sugar
- to taste salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup chilled water
- 4 Granny Smith apples peeled and finely chopped
- 1 tsp fresh lemon zest finely grated
- 2½ tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- to taste salt
- ¼ cup Nutella
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 egg beaten
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a bowl, add flour ,sugar, butter, and salt and mix well.
- With a pastry cutter ,cut in the butter.
- Add the chilled water and mix until a dough forms.
- With plastic wrap, cover the bowl and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, for filling in a large bowl, all the ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
- Place the dough on to a lightly floured surface and roll into ½-inch thickness.
- With a ramekin, cut12 circles from the dough.
- Place 6 circles in the bottom of 6 ramekins and press slightly.
- Place the filling mixture into the ramekins evenly and top with the remaining circles.
- Pinch the edges to seal the pies.
- Carefully cut 3 slits in each pie and coat evenly with the beaten egg.
- For topping: in a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar.
- Sprinkle each pie with cinnamon sugar.
- Slide the Air Fryer Basket inside and adjust the temperature to 350 °F to preheat for 5 minutes.
- After preheating, arrange the ramekins into the Air Fryer Basket in a single layer.
- Slide the basket into Air Fryer and set the time for 30 minutes.
- After cooking time is finished, remove the ramekins from Air Fryer and place onto a wire rack to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
