Air Fryer Tuna & Potato Cakes

Ingredients
  

  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 green chili seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 (6-ounce) cans tuna drained
  • 1 medium boiled potato mashed
  • 2 tbsp celery finely chopped
  • as required salt
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Non-Stick Cooking Spray

Instructions
 

  • Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and sauté onions, ginger, and green chili for about 30 seconds.
  • Add the tuna and stir fry for about 2-3 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed.
  • Remove from heat and transfer the tuna mixture onto a large bowl. Set aside to cool.
  • In the bowl of tuna mixture, add mashed potato, celery, and salt and mix well.
  • Make 4 equal-sized patties from the mixture.
  • In a shallow bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg.
  • Coat each patty with breadcrumbs, then dip into egg and finally, again coat with the breadcrumbs.
  • Grease the Air Fryer Basket with cooking spray and then slide inside.  
  • Adjust the temperature of Air Fryer to 390 °F to preheat for 5 minutes.
  • After preheating, arrange the tuna cakes into the greased Air Fryer Basket in a single layer.
  • Slide the basket into Air Fryer and set the time for 8 minutes.
  • After 3 minutes of cooking, flip the tuna cakes.
  • After cooking time is finished, remove the tuna cakes from Air Fryer and serve.
