Preheat your oven to 400 °F.
Line 2(17x12-inch)baking sheets with parchment paper.
Fit a large pastry bag with a ½-inch round tube. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder.
In a large glass bowl, add the egg whites and with a hand-held electric mixer,beat on high speed until soft peaks start to form.
Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and beat until stiff and glossy peaks form.
In another bowl, add egg yolks and remainingsugar and whisk until thick and very pale in color.
Add half of the whipped egg whites into the bowl of egg yolk mixture and gentlystir to blend.
Add in the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
Add the remaining whipped egg whites and gently stir to blend.
Transferthe mixture to the prepared pastry bag and pipe 3-inch fingersonto the preparedbaking sheetsabout 1-inch apart.
Bake for about 8 minutes.
