brown sugar (divided)
plus 1 tbsp

all-purpose flour

round chilled pie dough
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 °F.
Line baking sheet with baking paper.
In a bowl, add the cherries, ⅓ cup of brown sugar, flour, lemon juice and saltand mix well.
With a potato masher, mash the mixture a few times. Set aside.
For egg wash: in a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water.
Arrange the chilled dough round ontothe prepared baking sheet.
Place the cherry mixture onto center of dough, leaving a 2-inch border around theedges.
Carefully fold the edgesof dough over filling.
Brush the dough with egg wash.
Then sprinkle the top of the galettewith remaining brown sugar.
Bake for about 40-50 minutes until crust is golden brown.
Remove the baking sheet from oven and place the galette onto a wire rack to coolslightly before serving.
Notes
You can serve this galette with the topping of ice cream.
