Cherry Clafoutis

A delightful dessertfor special dinner parties… This delicious clafoutis features plump and juicycherries baked in a creamy and flour-thickened custard.

Ingredients
  

  • Non-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 6 eggs
  • ¾ cup half and half
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp unsalted btter
  • 2 cups fresh cherries pitted
  • for sprinkling powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the ovento 375 degrees °F.
  • In a bowl, addeggs, half-and-half, sugar, flour, salt and vanilla extract and beat until wellcombined.
  • Heat a 12-inchcast-iron skillet over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add butter in theskillet and le it melt completely.
  • Remove the skilletfrom the heat and swirl to coat completely. 
  • In the butteredskillet, place the cherries and then arrange evenly.
  • Place the eggmixture over the cherries evenly.
  • Bake for about 30minutes.
  • Remove the skilletfrom oven and place onto a wire rack to cool slightly before slicing.
  • Sprinkle withpowdered sugar and serve.

Notes

Serve this clafoutis with the topping of vanilla custard.
