What is the Best Way to Thaw Hake?
Refrigerating hake fish overnight is the most effective technique to defrost them. If the piece isn’t too large, you could submerge it in ice-cold water on your kitchen counter for about an hour until it thaws.
Which Hack Fillets are Good for this Recipe: Fresh or Frozen?
I usually prepare this with fresh fish fillets. However, you could use super quality frozen fillets of a hack if you ensure they’re adequately defrosted/thawed before breading and air-frying them.
What Are Some Best Sides to serve with it?
- Air-fried mushrooms and asparagus
- Cheesy mashed potatoes
- French fries
- And, hot sauce, or perhaps some tartar sauce.
Some Pro Tips to Make Best Air Fryer Breaded Hack:
- You can use either completely thawed frozen fish fillets or fresh fish fillets. Thin strips won’t work in this recipe. Thus, the fillets shouldn’t be too thin.
- Avoid overcrowding your air fryer basket since this will not allow the hack to get crispier and crunchier.
- Depending on the type and thickness of the fish you’re using, as well as your air fryer model, you may need to change the cooking periods. When you can easily flake the fish with a fork, it’s done.
