Which Mushrooms Can I Use in This Recipe?

This Air Fryer Mushrooms recipe can be made with several mushrooms, such as white button mushrooms, portobello mushrooms (sliced into smaller pieces), little brown mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, or shiitake mushrooms.

Is it Possible to Use Canned Mushrooms?

Nope. Those canned mushrooms are dripping with liquid. They will not be suitable to fry in the air fryer, as you’ll have bland mush on your hands.

How Should I Clean the Mushrooms Before Cooking Them?

To keep your mushrooms clean, don’t soak or rinse them! Remove the dirt or clean the mushrooms using a damp paper towel. Mushrooms absorb water like a sponge and release the absorbed water when cooked, diluting down the sauce.

      Pro Tips:

      • Begin with fresh mushrooms. It’s best not to soak them or wash them too much. After a rapid wash in a colander, brush off any dirt with a soft brush and pat them dry.
      • Toss the vegetables with the sauces such as soy sauce right before serving.
      • For the best air fryer mushrooms, preheat the Air Fryer before cooking.
      • Don’t overcrowd the basket so that mushrooms get crispy.
      • Slice some onions and add them to the mix before cooking.
      • All of them for a minute or more before serving.
