      Ingredients
        

      • 1 16-ounce bag baby carrots
      • ½ cup water
      • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
      • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
      • Salt and black pepper as required

      Instructions
       

      • In a large saucepan, add carrots, water, brown sugar and butter over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
      • Reduce the heat to low and cook, covered for about 6 minutes.
      • Increase the heat to high and cook, covered for about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
      • Stir in salt and black pepper and remove from heat.
      • Serve warm.

      Notes

      Look for firm and plump baby carrots.
