      What Is Baklava?

Turkish Baklava, also known as Fistikli Baklava or Pistachio Baklava, is a rich, buttery, sweet dessert made from phyllo dough, finely ground pistachios, butter, and a sugar, water, and lemon juice syrup.

What is the Story Behind Baklava?

The current form of Baklava was most likely developed in the imperial kitchens of Constantinople’s Topkapi Palace. Every 15th of Ramadan, the Sultan presented trays of baklava to the Janissaries in a ceremonial procession known as the Baklava Alay.

      Is Baklava Authentically Turkish?

Baklava originated in Turkey, Greece, and the Middle East, while the Turkish invaders brought it to Hungary in the 16th century.

      Is Baklava A Nutritious Dessert?

Yes, Baklava is more than just a delectable snack. Baklava’s phyllo pastry is low in calories and free of trans and saturated fats, and the honey drizzle can help control blood sugar levels and even fight cancer.

      Why Is Baklava So Delicious?

Baklava is made of phyllo dough layers with cinnamon-scented walnuts in the center. After baking, honey is poured over the filo to soak up. It’s a sweet dessert, but if you use good honey, your taste buds will be treated to a brilliant crunchy texture and delicious flavor.
