What Exactly Are Strawberry Oat Bars, and Why Should You Make Them?

Strawberry Oatmeal Bars are a lighter fruit dessert made with fresh strawberries, a whole grain butter crumb topping, and a light vanilla glaze. This healthier fruit+oatmeal bar is a fan favorite because these delectable treats are simple to make and only 100 calories per serving! Moreover, they are good for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

Top Tips to Make Strawberry Oat Bars

      • Double the recipe and bake in a 913-inch baking pan. The bars will be slightly thicker but still delicious. Substitute a 1:1 baking mix for the white whole wheat flour to make them gluten-free.
      • If using frozen strawberries, thaw them completely and pat them dry before proceeding with the recipe.
      • Refrigerate any leftovers for up to 5 days.
      • Allow the bars to cool completely before freezing, and do not glaze. Before freezing, wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Allow to thaw in the refrigerator before topping with glaze.
      • Use only old-fashioned oats for this recipe. Quick oats and steel-cut oats will not work! Make sure to use regular rolled oats instead.
      • After lining the pan with parchment paper, spray it lightly with cooking spray. This allows for the finished bars to be easily removed.
